Macduff Shellfish Scallop Management Conference
We’re pleased to announce that the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers have asked Macduff Shellfish to partner with them in hosting the first UK Scallop Management Conference in 2019. The purpose of the conference is to bring together fisheries champions from around the world to present case studies on sustainable models of fisheries management and best practices that may be applied to the future management of UK scallop fisheries. The objective will be to better understand the costs and benefits of different management models for UK stocks and for the businesses dependent upon them.
The conference will be held February 4th and 5th, 2019 in Fishmonger’s Hall, London. By inviting fishermen from all over the UK, along with government officials, fishery managers and scientists, the hope is that this conference will help to inform the future management of UK scallop fisheries.
