2018 Fishing News Awards - Shellfish Fisherman of the Year

Congratulations to James (Mealy) Spencer, Skipper of Macduff’s Sylvia Bowers DS 8, who recently won the Shellfish Fisherman of the Year Award. This special accolade is awarded to a UK or Ireland-based fisherman who has made a clear commitment to shellfish harvesting.

Each category of the Fishing News Awards recognize excellence within an aspect of commercial fishing in the UK and/or Ireland from January to December 2017. Skills, determination, leadership ability and adaptability to change in today's fishing industry are all key qualifications, which Mealy demonstrates.
